My Dad developed Sacha Cosmetics 30 years ago for the Trinidad market, which is a melting pot of every possible skin color. His dream was to create one line that can be worn by all Caribbean women, regardless of ancestry.
He believed, and rightly so, that the first step in creating a beautiful makeover, was finding the right foundation. The perfect foundation he insisted, must have adequate coverage and staying power and must perfectly match your natural skin color.
He identified 12 basic skin colors which 99% of women would fall into. When they did, his chemists and makeup artists worked as a team to perfect each shade, ensuring that each fits like a second skin. When they finally did, they began developing an exciting range of makeup colors that would exquisitely enhance women’s natural beauty.
Along the way, Sacha was since the Official Cosmetics of the Miss Universe and Miss USA Pageants. The makeup artists at these Pageants loved the line since it contains products and colors for diverse complexions – from Miss Russia to Miss Nigeria and all the exotic tones in between.

At these Pageants, all the delegates bring their own makeup. However when they saw what a difference it made when they wore Sacha, virtually all decided to make the switch. Delegates with exotic skin tones in particular embraced the line, because there are so few options available to them.
Interestingly, in the 80 year history of the Miss Universe Pageant there had been only one Black Miss Universe which was 25 years earlier. Recently, African delegates won the title, two years in a row, both wearing the same brand of makeup, Sacha.
